Troubleshooting
In the following are reported some tips which might be useful in presence of bluetooth connection or signal noise.
Warning!
If you use the MEP system on rollers, bike fittings, training kines, tapis roulant, etc. be sure that bike and system is electrically connected to the ground. Main 50/60HZ or other electromagnetic device such as brakes or motors could generate an high electrical noise on the ungrounded systems.
MEP has been tested with many bluetooth dongles and several Operating Systems (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 10). If you encounter any problem, please check the following TIPS:
After installing MEPManager on Windows 10, MEP does not connect to the PCs
Make sure you have installed Windows 10 cumulative update "KB3093266".
MEP does not connect to the smartphone or to the PCs
Please operate as follows:
  • ensure that only one device is connected to MEP (smartphone or PC, not both!!!)
  • check if you can use proper COM port in MEPManager (MEPPhone comes already pre-installed and does not need any setting)
  • try to reboot your computer (sometimes stand-by or hibernate pc could fail reloading drivers)
  • try to re-insert bluetooth dongle (sometimes this could reinitialize correctly bluetooth stack)
  • try full bluetooth dongle software uninstall/reinstall
  • try to update dongle drivers
  • try using internal Windows bluetooth drivers if dongle furnished driver does not work
MEP CONNECT BUT DISCONNECT AFTER A LOT OF TIME (5min - 30 min) OR DATA START TO GET UNSTABLE
  • some dongles have a software driver limitation in time or data amount. Please check your dongle supplier
  • some dongles do not accept more than one connection at a time. Be sure to avoid multiple bluetooth connections (only in case of problems: switch off any other bluetooth device and re-try)
